Hey lovelies, welcome to my blog! I thought I should probably introduce myself before you all start delving into my thoughts and opinions, and what better way to do that than a little get to know me post? Instead of the usual Q&A format, I thought I'd try and showcase some aspects of myself A-Z style as a way to really get me thinking and hopefully it's an interesting read for you too!
A is for Age...
I am 21 years young, a little nervous about adulthood but ultimately excited for the years ahead of me.
B is for Blogging...
I have always loved to write and be creative, I thought that starting a blog would be a wonderful way to express my opinions, document my adventures, and showcase my passion for the written word.
C is for Cats or Dogs...
I am definitely a dog person, no hate to my cat people out there, but there is just something about the little feline friends that doesn't sit right with me; no matter how cute they are. They never seem to portray the same love and affection that a pup does, maybe it's just my love of attention? but dogs are for sure the one for me.
D is for Daydreaming...
I have a pretty active imagination and often find myself daydreaming scenarios and sometimes that includes coming to catastrophic conclusions of situations that haven't played out yet - i'm working on that one. However, I love my ability to daydream myself into the centre of books, films and programmes; it makes for a more interesting and personal experience, and really helps getting my creative ideas flowing.
E is for Essentials...
Hmm, items I couldn't live without, let me think. Definitely would have to include my phone, it's my source of communication, socialising, keeping up to date on current affairs and entertainment. No one can deny that in this day and age, phones are almost becoming a second brain! I'd also need to have my guitar, crystals, a pen and paper, and I can't forget my teddy bear Henry; a gift from my brother that I hold close to my heart.
F is for Family and Friends...
I am blessed to have a very close knit family who support each other and whom I have unconditional love for. I also definitely lucked out with my friends, each of them have shaped my life in different ways and I am so grateful and thankful for them!
G is for Gossip Girl...
I make farrr to many references to this show in my daily life and it is one of the shows that takes up a big part of my daydreaming - ohh to be walking around New York with Nate Archibald. I was lucky enough to be gifted with a trip to New York for my 21st birthday, unfortunately it has been pushed back due to the current covid situation but I am so excited to live out my Gossip Girl fantasies!
H is for Hometown...
I'm from Coventry and have spent my childhood and adolescence there. I'm excited to see this little city evolve (lets go city of culture 2021) and I have lots of family, friends and great memories there. I don't know if it is where I plan to live for the rest of my life, but it has definitely made an impact.
I is for Instagram...
Gotta include an excuse for a cheeky plug of my insta (@livingwith_leah)!
J is for Joy...
I believe that as humans our minds often steer off into the negative, but it is important to focus on the good in situations a live a positive and happy life. The energy that we put out is what we receive. I'm not saying it's easy, nor am I a pro at thinking positive in every situation, however focusing on the good has no downsides; it makes for better days! As the icon Alyssa Edwards once said, "Don't be bitter, just get better."
K is for Kindness...
This goes pretty hand in had with the last one, you never know what someone's story is, so I always make sure that I am kind and respectful.
L is for Lorde, Lana Del Rey and other music artists I love...
Music is such a big part of my life, I love the sounds, the feelings, the ability to escape reality for a while. Lorde and Lana Del Rey are notable artists that I adore, but I like listening to a wide range of genres from Drum and Bass on a night out to some classic Musical Theatre and cheesy pop songs while I'm getting ready for the day!
M is for Manifestation...
I'm not going to go into too much detail about this because I plan on featuring this concept in my blogs quite often. I'm a big believer in trusting power of the universe; what you put out there will find it's way back to you.
N is for Night Owl...
I am NOT a morning person. I definitely tend to get most of my motivation during the evening and night time, a 5 am workout sounds awful to me but a bit of yoga a couple of hours after my dinner? Perfect. I also tend to get most of my work done at night, my brain just doesn't have the same power during the day.
O is for (The) Ordinary...
This is not a sponsored ad, although I wish it was, but The Ordinary Skincare is for sure a favourite of mine. I'll be posting a blog about my skincare routine in the near future but The Ordinary products are a staple that I thought deserved a mention.
P is for Podcasts...
I love a good podcast; I can't sleep without having one playing in the background. they're also a great accompaniment to baths and tidying up. My favourites at the moment are: 'Shagged, Married Annoyed', 'Table Manners', 'I can't Believe it's not Buddha' and 'Happy Place' but the list goes on, it could probably be a post in itself.
Q is for Quiet Time...
I'm a very social person and I thrive in social situations. However, I neeeeed my quiet alone time to recharge and refresh. I think it's called being an ambivert? I'll have to do a little more research on that one.
R is for Real Housewives...
Another TV show that makes up part of my personality! My fave is Real Housewives of Beverly Hills but I'm loving New York too. The extravagance, the drama, the ridiculousness of it all - it's amazing!
S is for Squid...
If you had dared me to eat calamari a couple of years ago, I would have refused even with a bribe, but now it's my go to starter! A little bit of sweet chilli sauce on the side - I'll be in my element.
T is for Theatre...
I grew up being a part of dance schools and musical theatre groups. Whilst I don't have much involvement in theatre at the minute, it played a big part in my life and i'll always love going to see a show. Legally blonde and Phantom of the Opera are my personal faves!
U is for Under the Sea...
I wasn't quite sure what to put for this letter, I'd already used up the B and F for Biggest Fear. Don't get me wrong, I'll happily swim in an inviting blue sea, but the thought of what lies beneath the waters and the fact that there is so much left undiscovered terrifies me.
V is for Vogue...
I have a growing stack of my Vogue magazines on the shelf in my room, I have such a love for fashion and I find a lot of editorials so mesmerising. I often watch the latest catwalks and it's an absolute dream of mine to go to Milan Fashion Week.
W is for Work...
What do I want to be when I grow up? I always used to say that I would love to be a writer for Vogue and that dream is definitely something I still hold on to, but I'm exploring career options at the minute having recently finished university. I am currently a Nando's Influencer which is a lot of fun and free Nando's - the dream. I am looking into getting into marketing and advertising too as those areas really interest me!
X is for X Rays...
I honestly had no idea what to do for X so fun fact: I've never had an X-Ray. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
Y is for Yesterday's Dinner...
I had chicken tinga tacos (a Gousto special) and they were amazing, I don't know what is for dinner tonight but I'm sure it'll be just as good.
Z is for Zodiac Sign...
I'm a Taurus. Keeping this short and sweet as this is another topic I'm going to explore in detail in a future post!
If you've made it this far, thanks for sticking around and getting to know me! I'm excited to share more with you all. Take care of yourselves!
